Introducing the WFT 2 Trimmer from Little Crow Gunworks

The WFT 2 Trimmer is the latest innovation in trimming technology, designed for precision and versatility.

Product Features:

  • Caliber Compatibility: Capable of trimming up to .45 caliber.
  • Interchangeable Trim Chambers: Easily swap out trim chambers for different cartridges.
  • Shaft Size: Features a half inch shaft requiring a half inch chuck for operation.
  • Easy Chamber Change: Simply remove the cutter and use the provided knock-out dowel to switch out trim chambers.
  • Precision Adjustment: Set cutter depth effortlessly using a “master case” to ensure accurate trimming.

Unlike the original WFT, the trim chambers on the WFT 2 utilize a slight slip fit in bearing with a groove for an O-ring, creating a secure press fit. This design allows for quick and efficient changes, making your trimming process smoother.

The WFT 2 maintains the same precision and cleanliness as the original model, ensuring that each case is trimmed to perfection. The trim chamber selection is based on specific cartridges, but it is still organized by case family; simply order the largest chamber in the family you plan to trim.

Brownells USA It’s a work in progress 25/08/2018

This was difficult for me to get the adjustment right. I used the master case against the cutter and locked the set screws. Installed the trimmer in Dewalt drill and the cases came out .006 short the first time. I readjusted and now it’s + or - .002. Maybe I’m too much a perfectionist. It is fast. The cutter has chips in the edges and some case chatter a bit till cut no matter how easy I insert the trimmer. I’ll order another cutter when they’re in stock. Overall I believe most of my challenges are due to “operator error!” Hence the 5 star rating.

Brownells USA Not the best choice 23/02/2017

I have to give credit to Little Crow Gunworks. They offered to take back my trimmer and fix it after I buggered it up. Using the dowlel to remove the insert caused the entire bottom bearing to pop out. Needed to hear the housing with a torch to get that back in. But I kept it, knowing I will never change out the trim chamber to trim another caliber.

Problems: The WFT required a half inch chuck. THat means your normal power drill will not work. That's just poor design thinking. Second, it is tough to clean. Third, as noted, it does not chamfer, so you get to double-work your brass. Last, it is not easy to adjust the cut height. Bottom line: there are better options.
