Precision-engineered bushings for optimal bullet tension.
RCBS Steel Neck Bushings are designed for reloading enthusiasts who demand the highest level of consistency and accuracy in their ammunition. These bushings are interchangeable, allowing you to select the perfect bushing that provides the right amount of tension on the bullet when using RCBS Gold Medal Match sizing dies.
Key Features:
- Reduces Work Hardening: A precisely fitted Steel Neck Bushing minimizes the work hardening of case neck brass, extending case life and enhancing accuracy.
- Self-Centering: Ensures proper alignment with the case neck for optimal performance.
- High-End Brass Recommended: For best results, use brass with consistent neck thicknesses.
- Traditional Lubrication Required: Bushings come "in-the-white" (bare steel), necessitating traditional case lubrication.
- Compatibility: Designed for use ONLY with RCBS Gold Medal sizing dies.
- Size Recommendations: RCBS suggests having neck bushings one to two sizes above and below your target diameter.
RCBS Steel Neck Bushings play a small but critical role in loading exceptionally consistent-shooting ammunition with your Gold Medal Match sizing dies.
Brownells Gun Tech™ Tip:
There are two effective methods to select the steel neck bushings you need:
- Measure the outside neck diameter of your loaded cartridge and subtract .002" to .003". This allows approximately .001" of brass to spring back for correct neck tension.
- Measure the neck wall thickness of your case, multiply by two, add the diameter of your bullet, and subtract .002" to .003".
