RCBS Steel Neck Bushings are interchangeable components designed to allow reloaders to select a bushing that provides the perfect amount of tension on the bullet when using RCBS Gold Medal Match sizing dies. These bushings are essential for achieving consistent and accurate ammunition.

  • Self-centering: Ensures proper alignment with the case neck.
  • Durability: Reduces work hardening of the case neck brass, extending case life.
  • Accuracy: Helps improve overall shooting accuracy.
  • High-end brass recommended: For best results, use brass with consistent neck thicknesses.
  • Traditional lubrication required: Bushings come "in-the-white" (bare steel).
  • Compatibility: For use ONLY with RCBS Gold Medal sizing dies.

RCBS recommends keeping neck bushings one to two sizes above and below your target diameter for optimal performance. The Steel Neck Bushings are small yet critical components in loading ammo that shoots consistently well with your Gold Medal Match sizing dies.

There are two effective methods to select the steel neck bushings you need:

  1. Measure the outside neck diameter of your loaded cartridge and subtract .002" to .003". This allows approximately .001" of brass to spring back for correct neck tension.
  2. Measure the neck wall thickness of your case, multiply by two, add the diameter of your bullet, and subtract .002" to .003".
