RCBS Steel Neck Bushings are interchangeable components designed to provide the optimal amount of tension on the bullet when using RCBS Gold Medal Match sizing dies. These bushings are essential for reloaders aiming for exceptional accuracy and case longevity.

Key Features:

  • Self-Centering: Ensures proper alignment with the case neck for consistent performance.
  • Work Hardening Reduction: A precisely fitted Steel Neck Bushing minimizes work hardening of the case neck brass, extending case life.
  • Recommended Brass: For best results, use high-end brass with consistent neck thicknesses.
  • Traditional Lubrication Required: Bushings come "in-the-white" (bare steel), necessitating the use of traditional case lubrication.
  • Compatibility: Designed exclusively for use with RCBS Gold Medal sizing dies.

RCBS recommends having neck bushings one to two sizes above and below your target diameter to achieve optimal results. These small yet critical components play a significant role in loading extremely consistent-shooting ammunition with your Gold Medal Match sizing dies.

To select the steel neck bushings you need, you can use one of the following methods:

  1. Measure the outside neck diameter of your loaded cartridge and subtract .002" to .003". This allows for approximately .001" of brass to spring back for the correct neck tension.
  2. Measure the neck wall thickness of your case, multiply by two, add the diameter of your bullet, and subtract .002" to .003".
