Achieve Perfect Neck Tension with RCBS Steel Neck Sizing Bushings
RCBS Steel Neck Bushings are interchangeable components designed to provide the ideal tension on your bullets when using RCBS Gold Medal Match sizing dies. These bushings are essential for reloaders seeking precision and consistency in their ammunition.
Key Features:
- Interchangeable Design: Select the bushing that gives you the right amount of tension.
- Reduces Work Hardening: A precisely fitted Steel Neck Bushing minimizes work hardening of the case neck brass, prolonging case life and enhancing accuracy.
- Self-Centering: Ensures proper alignment with the case neck for optimal performance.
- Recommended Brass: For best results, use high-end brass with consistent neck thicknesses.
- Traditional Lubrication Required: Bushings come "in-the-white" - bare steel, necessitating traditional case lubrication.
- Compatibility: Designed for use ONLY with RCBS Gold Medal sizing dies.
RCBS recommends having neck bushings one to two sizes above and below your target diameter. These steel neck bushings play a critical role in loading exceptionally consistent and accurate ammunition with your Gold Medal Match sizing dies.
Brownells Gun Tech™ Tip:
To select the right steel neck bushings, consider the following methods:
- Measure the outside neck diameter of your loaded cartridge and subtract .002" to .003". This allows approximately .001" of brass to spring back for correct neck tension.
- Measure the neck wall thickness of your case, multiply by two, add the diameter of your bullet, and subtract .002" to .003".
