Featuring GEN M3® technology, a paint-pen dot matrix for visual identification, and a flared base plate for positive control and ease of retrieval, the PMAG 10 7.62 AC sets a new standard for bolt action magazines. In addition, due to the wide variety and potential combinations of aftermarket receivers, stocks, chassis, and bottom metal that accept AICS pattern mags, minor fitting may be required. Not compatible with Accuracy International AE rifles or semi-auto platforms utilizing SR25/M110 pattern magazines. The Sig Cross rifles ship with a Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC that has a proprietary sled follower for optimized single-round loading through the ejection port. The standard PMAG 5 7.62 AC (MAG549) and PMAG 5 7.62 AC (MAG579) are compatible with the Sig Cross, and feeding performance will be the same from the Sig Cross OEM Magpul magazine or the standard Magpul PMAG 7.62 AC magazines. The original PMAG 5 7.62 AC magazine, identified by its green lock plate and follower, was optimized for the .308 Winchester based family of cartridges and is compatible with short action AICS-spec bottom metal, to include the Bolt Action Magazine Well for the Hunter 700 Stock, and performed well with most non-.308 based cartridges in nearly all applications. Some three lug bolt action rifle platforms, such as the Ruger American Rifle®, presented some occasional feeding concerns when used with the standard green follower PMAG 5 7.62 AC magazine. Magpul have made an inline change to a new design of spring and follower. The revised PMAG 5 7.62 AC magazine, easily identified with its brown lock plate and follower, has been optimized to ensure complete Magpul reliability with a broad range of calibers in the Ruger American Rifle® and other 3-lug bolt designs, while maintaining or improving the proven Magpul reliability in Remington® 700 footprint platforms and other 2-lug bolt action designs. For the Hunter American stock, Magpul recommend using only the new, brown follower magazines, in calibers like 6.5 Creedmoor. All other actions, and the Ruger in .308, can use either version interchangeably.

Slightly recommend

Feeding issues 10/08/2018

The 10 round AICS Pmag has given me a lot of feeding issues. The follower starts binding after the 5th or 6th round and has real trouble with anything more than that. I thought using it with 6.5 Creedmoor might be the issue, but tried it with 308 and had the same problems. The 5 round Pmags have been smooth and 100% reliable, so I may have just gotten a rare lemon from Magpul.

Flawless magazine as a 9-Rounder. Does not fit or function in my AccurateMag Howa Chassis Rifle with the 10th round inserted. 9/10 Stars or Bullets a is more accurate rating.

Will not fit Tikka T3x without Mods 31/01/2017

Purchased 3 of these due to the fact that it accepts a cartridge overall length of up to 2.86" vs 2.80â of other magazines. I have .308 Tikka T3x mounted in the MDT LSS-XL chassis System and the magazine does fit in the stock, but the feed lips hit on the Tikka rifle itself preventing it from locking in.

If you want to use these magazines in a Tikka T3x you will need to file off a bit of the feed lips. It doesnât take much and donât use a dremel as I did on the first one as it takes off too much material. I found using a 3/4x3/4 wooden stick with 150 grit sandpaper working slowly to reduce the thickness on the outside of each feed lip. Work slow and check often for correct fitness. They work good for me now and even the first one with the dremel works, but looks a bit ugly. You donât have to take off much material so I hope long term the feed lips will be okay. If you donât feel comftoable doing this modification, I suggest buying a polymer 8rd mag from MDT or the steel AICS mags.
