Very good base mount 26/02/2012

This is a good mount for the Ruger 77/357 and Ruger 77/44. I'd like to see was a better method for indexing the base to the receiver. Forward and back indexing is accomplished with a roll pin, laterally there is really no way to center the base on the receiver, other than carefully adjusting the mounting screws in or out. The rear of the base could be a bit longer to accomodate the Weaver style rings. A weaver ring will overhang the back of the base by about an eighth of an inch.

It's just a good solid fit and does not interfer with ajecting the spent shells or the action of the bolt ......
