The fastest, most convenient method available to any gunsmith for rebarreling and accurizing the fine Remington 700 action. Now you can provide your customers with the increased accuracy and superior performance that only a custom, match-quality barrel can deliver without time-consuming and costly lathe work. Brownells match-grade barrels are pre-threaded and short-chambered for ease of installation. Plus, the bolt body counterbore is fully cut. Groove tolerances are uniform to within .0003" end-to-end and air-gauged to ensure conformity. After installation, use a hand-turned finish reamer to deepen chamber until correct head space is reached, (correct Reamer and Headspace Gauges required). Made to our specifications by Shilen.

The REMINGTON 700 BARREL, SHILEN 30-06 SPRINGFIELD 1-10" TWIST #5.5 CHROME MOLY BARREL is designed for gunsmiths seeking the fastest and most efficient method for rebarreling and enhancing the accuracy of the renowned Remington 700 action.

  • Short-chambered and pre-threaded for seamless installation on Remington 700 actions.
  • Delivers unmatched accuracy and performance, comparable to custom, match-quality barrels.
  • Eliminates the need for time-consuming lathe work, saving both time and costs.
  • Match-grade barrels are fully cut for the bolt body counterbore.
  • Groove tolerances maintained to within .0003" end-to-end, air-gauged for conformity.

After installation, use a hand-turned finish reamer to deepen the chamber until the correct headspace is achieved (correct reamer and headspace gauges required). Manufactured to our specifications by Shilen.

Specifications:

  • Material: 4140 chrome moly or 416 stainless steel, stress relieved.
  • Length: 26" (66cm).
  • Contour #4 for .204 Ruger barrel: 1.220” (3.1cm) tapering to .660” (16.7mm) at the muzzle.
  • Contour #5.5 closely matches the Remington factory varmint barrel, requiring minimal alterations to factory stocks.
  • Contours #6 and #7 are straight tapered from 1.200” (30.5mm) at the breech to .750” (19mm) (#6) and .900” (22.9mm) O.D. (#7) at the muzzle.

Definitely recommended

Brownells USA Shilen 22-250 w/1:8 Twist 05/08/2018

Very pleased with the accuracy from this barrel. Paired it with a Defiance action, H-S Precision PT-008 stock, and Golden Eagle scope - it's a great shooter. Three shot group photos were taken during load development after running 20 rounds of factory loads through it for break in/cleaning.



One thing to note, if you are fitting to a custom action check the thickness of the recoil lug (if provided with the action). The barrel is set up for a factory recoil lug ~.187" thick lug.
