The bolt is light enough to reduce the overall weight of a lightweight AR build, and the lightness of the entire assembly also reduces the felt recoil of any AR-style firearm. For whom it may concern, I just got this in the mail today and weighed it on 2 different scales at 8.2 ozs.



I am still working on my parts list for a lightweight build, so I cannot comment on it's reliability. However, It appears well made, and the weight is spot on.
