Introducing the newest addition to the EGW lineup: The Hunter series picatinny scope mount. EGW recognized the demand for a shorter, lighter, heavy duty picatinny scope mount, and this is the result of their innovation. After countless hours of prototyping and testing, the Hunter mount was born.
Key Features:
- Material: Crafted from 7075 T6 aluminum for an extremely durable yet lightweight construction.
- Protection: Type III hardcoat anodizing protects the mount from the harshest elements.
- Design: Chamfered edges provide a snag-free hunting experience.
- Weight Reduction: A compact overall length sheds 15% of its weight compared to other Heavy Duty mounts.
- Ambidextrous: Standard bevel on both sides allows for ambidextrous use.
The bolt pattern on the Remington 700 Long Action mount fits Long Action Remington 700 rifles (examples include 30-06, 300 Win Mag), as well as the 740 and 40x. However, please note that the Remington 700 mount will NOT fit Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard rifles. While the bolt pattern is similar, the rest of the mount (ejection port, length, etc.) makes it incompatible with these two models. EGW recommends measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm compatibility with the published dimensions.
Versatile Mounting Options:
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, providing flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount and typically does not obstruct the use of factory iron sights. EGW's one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for both hunters and tactical shooters.
Manufacturing Excellence:
These mounts are machined in-house using advanced machining centers. After machining, the mounts undergo tumbling, sand blasting, and Type III anodizing for long-lasting durability.
Installation Recommendations:
- Torque: EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque.
- Loctite: A drip of blue loctite is advised (loctite sold separately).
For optimal performance:
- 0 MOA: Ideal for shooting 0-500 yards.
- 20 MOA: Best for shooting 500-1000 yards. When zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, EGW recommends zeroing at 200 yards.
