812872022710 Easily lost, the standard split-pin design firing pin retainer pin is haunted by poor retention. For decent function, the user must regularly spread apart the pin's split tip. Without this, these pins are prone to falling out whenever the carrier group is removed from the rifle. Typically, such pins are either lost or fracture from regular spreading. Our JP-designed and manufactured firing pin retainer pin resolves all retention issues of the standard split-pin component. The cotter-style design offers superior retention and longevity. Its overall length is optimized for JP bolt carriers but is a perfectly functional replacement for the pins in all large-frame bolt carriers of the DPMS LR-308 pattern.

Not for M&P-10 308 16/05/2018
This appears to be well made and finished and is the correct length, but unfortunately is too thick to work in my M&P-10 308 (18"-barrel made 2017). It looks beefier and feels like it almost works, but sadly no cigar! S&W is great about lifetime warranty parts and repairs, but many of us want spare parts handy without the delays and hassles with getting small parts like this from S&W. Brownells is great and JPE makes fantastic parts; I use many JPE on several rifles, especially their adjustable gas blocks (on this M&P-10 the AGB helps immensely BTW) and bolt and bolt carrier parts, but this particular part suffers from the AR-10 proprietary parts issue that happily the AR-15 doesn't much. Sigh....
