Replaced a borrowed DMPS ambi safety on my Ruger AR 556. It took longer to remove the DPMS safety because I had to find the correct tool to remove the screw that holds the second lever in place.
You need a 3/16 long Allen wrench to remove your grip. Use the new spring and detent plunger that comes with the TALON Safety.
With the hammer cocked slide the old safety out. You can easily slide the shaft in place and slide the dovetailed levers on and try it out to see how it suits you before you install the plunger, spring and re-install the grip. If you want the 45 degree option have the closely spaced detents facing down.
A small flat blade screw driver is handy to depress the plunger when you slide the lever in place. The L shaped tool is necessary to remove the lever, a small flat blade will push the plunger down. The lever will trap the plunger before you slip the lever fully on the dovetail. Wear eye protection just in case you slip and teh little spring and plunger hit you in the eye.
