Additionally, the Apex Evolution IV Hammer replaces MIM components found in Smith & Wesson non-Performance Center revolvers and Performance Center revolvers made after January 2012. Manufactured from heat treated 17-4 Ph stainless steel, the hammer is wire EDM and CNC machined then surface ground to ensure consistent performance. No more light strikes 10/02/2017
1 month of ownership, installed on S&W 617 that I put a spring kit in. I had 2 adjacent cylinder that would not fire. The sear needed some stoning to reset, other than that it dropped right in. A gun that has wear on the trigger may drop in, my gun was new. It's a little pricy but it does what it's supposed to. 300 rounds so far and no issues.
