Preferred Ambi Mag Release 20/09/2017
Have tried the KAC, Remington, and Troy ambi mag releases, and this one is my favorite. Note: the KAC will not work without modification if you have the KNS anti-walk pins installed. The Remington version does not feel as good - the release does not depress as far, and my finger is angled upward versus straight across with the Troy. The Troy has the best feel, and feels similar to the standard mag release.
Broke on Second Use 30/03/2017
I installed the part on my Windham SRC-308 as instructed, with little or no difficulty. Took the rifle to the range and when I attempted to drop the second empty mag, the lever broke cleanly just below the word TROY. While not a weapon disabling failure (the normal operation is still workable), for the money involved, I think there should be a bit more durability. I bought this item because the KAC version was on backorder. I'm really sorry that I didn't wait.
