The last bit of extra weight has been stripped away for minimum weight and faster locktime. Machined from A-2 tool steel or Stainless Steel and hardened for superior strength and long life. Sear engagement hooks pre-cut to .020" height and ground; ready to polish. Rebated width on half-cock prevents sear nose damage. Combat-style spur is serrated for fast, easy thumb grip. Narrowed body can't interfere with slide travel.

SPECS: Stainless steel (S/S) or A-2 steel, heat treated to Rc 48-52. Fits Series 70 and 80. Minor fitting required.

I Love It (30/05/2011)

A true drop-in hammer for my RIA 1911MS.
This piece was a piece of cake to install, and required NO FITTING! The biggest hassle was swapping over the hammer strut, and even that only took a minute with a small punch and a gunsmith's hammer. This hammer looks great and feels great.
I paired it up with a Wilson ultralight skeletonized hammer ans a Wilson Combat SS Beavertail Safety.

I had used this hammer on a Springfield I owned years ago and liked it. Fourteen years later, I bought another to install on my new Springfield TRP which already had a great factory trigger job but I wanted to create a new trigger group for IPSC competition and leave the original group intact.

The hammer was nearly exactly the same as the piece I bought years ago. Perfect angles and hammer hook height, polished and perfectly square. The exterior edges are sharp-edged but easily melted to one's preference using a green or grey cylindrical Dremel polishing stick.

What I like second best about this hammer is the minimal hammer movement after the slide cocking - very little chance for sear bounce on a light trigger. What I like best is that it is a superb blend of art and function.

This hammer dropped right in with no fitting required! Much nicer that the hammer that came on my 70 series Colt Commander.

Excellent part (16/10/2009)

If you want the absolute cleanest, crispest, creep free trigger that can be had then this is your hammer. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that Wilson does not bevel any of the edges on this hammer. It takes a while to bevel all of the edges on this hammer which is a real pain. Other than that this hammer (in combination with the Wilson A2 sear) when properly set up can give you the cleanest crispest creep free trigger that can be had.

Ultra smooth trigger pull! (09/11/2009)

I agree with the other post, when you team this hammer up with the Wilson A2 sear, your gun with function ultra smooth! Made a considerable difference in my gun! Spend the extra money on barstock, and buy this hammer!

Purchased this hammer for a para p14 project. This hammer worked perfectly with the Wilson sear purchased at the same time. No creep, clean break. It doesnt get any better.

Jams My Series 80 Colt MKIV Gold Cup NM (07/08/2012)

My brother bought this for me together with 965-429-101 Grip safety. I uninstalled both when my gun Series 80 Colt MKIV Gold Cup NM had 2 to 3 jams using a standard 230 grain FMJ.

The product quality is good but I think it should not be installed for the pistol mentioned above.

Great SS Ultralight Hammer (04/01/2016)

I polished the sides of the hammer just to get rid of some tool marks. Dropped right in and functions flawlessly with the Deluxe Match Grade Sear and that I also purchased and installed into my Springfield Armory GI 1911-A1.

WC ultralight hammer (02/02/2017)

This is the second one I bought. Installed it in my Colt Combat Elite with a WC bulletproof sear, it added 1/4 to a 3.5 Lb trigger pull, but it is super crisp so you don't feel it. Swapped it out to my Kimber Super match 45. Consistent and crisp pull at 3.5LBs, better feel than my Colt. Swapped it on to my Kimber Team Match 9mm, somehow, trigger pull is 4 LBs but had a very very slight drag when the trigger is pulled slowly. I recommend this product. By the way, no polishing of any sort was done to the sear or hammer.
