Challis hex drive bushings represent a breakthrough design, ideal for custom builds, replacing damaged bushings, or switching between standard and slim grips. These bushings utilize a 7/32” nut driver, allowing you to feel thread engagement and avoid the risks of cross-threading. The robust hex head is engineered to handle the necessary torque for proper seating without distorting the bushing or risking scratches on your firearm.
With the same driver, the bushings can be easily removed without any risk to the frame or the bushing itself. Unlike traditional styles, Challis bushings are designed for multiple reuse, making them a practical choice for any gunsmith.
Additionally, hex drive bushings can be fitted with an optional O-ring, which keeps grips securely in place and minimizes shock to both the grips and bushings during discharge. The use of O-rings helps reduce scuffing from G10 and other abrasive materials, protects delicate and expensive grips like ivory and mammoth tooth, and minimizes loosening caused by heavy grip materials such as G10, carbon fiber, and aluminum.
Incorporating Challis grip screw O-rings with hex head bushings offers enhanced shock absorption, providing additional protection for your gun, grips, and bushings.

Completely simplifies the installment and removal of grip screw bushings. No more bunged up grip bushing slots to file and trim when the spade slips out of the slot during installation, and a much cleaner look to them as well. Great idea from Challis Grips.
