23lb seems to be perfect for my 1911 18/06/2015

The 23lb bullet proof sear spring works great with the other parts that I've had NP3+ coated and installed/adjusted by robar.

The combination of the deluxe sear & XP firing pin return spring with Wilson's combat bulletproof firing pin, 23lb hammer spring which keeps a 5lb pull for competition and is better for personal protection as this isn't a target pistol where a 18 or 19lb hammer spring is great but not what you want for LEOs or personal protection.

Do NOT purchase if you own a Para P14.45 06/02/2010

I bought this to replace my oem spring in my Para Ordnance P14.45. It is a really great part, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't fit my gun.

The description from Brownells states that it will work in most Para frames so I purchased it. What was happening was, when the firearm was fired a fews times, I would hear an audible click. The slide would go back after each fire and then stick. I would have to remove the mainspring housing while the slide was locked back to pull the spring back off the sear.

What happens is the disconnector would fall BEHIND the middle leaf on the spring and compress the trigger. In other words, the middle leaf is too short. I checked it next to my oem spring and according to my eyes, is about a centimeter too short. I placed my oem spring back in and had no problems.

Item is a well made item though. Can definitely tell it is not a cheap metal being used.
