Introducing the 1911 45ACP MAGAZINES from METALFORM, designed for traditional and increased-capacity use with 1911 Colts, copies, and compacts.

Product Description

These robust, high-quality magazines are made in the U.S. from blued carbon steel and stainless steel, suitable for 1911 Auto pistols chambered in a variety of calibers. Choose from:

  • Round or Flat Steel Followers: Both designed to ensure positive last-round feeding with all bullet types, including wadcutters.
  • Safety Orange Nylon Follower: Concave design allows for holding an additional round.

Available in three floorplate configurations:

  • Welded: Flat, steel plate permanently welded to the magazine body, featuring screw holes to accept Metalform Bumper Pads.

Specifications

  • Material: Blued carbon steel (Blue) or natural-finish stainless steel (Stnls).
  • Length: Approximately 5" (12.7cm).
  • Followers: Stainless steel, available in natural silver or black finish, with flat or round contour.

Brownells USA promising but no 18/01/2018

on the positive side, this is one of very few magazines on the market with hybrid feed lips. Which means it feeds as 1911 was designed to feed, or close to it. And, it's a flush fitting 8rd magazine, which is nice.



On the negative side, 1) it consistently fails limp wristing test through the top 3 rounds and 2) it overrides the mag catch, which is not a trivial failure. It remains to be seen if this can be remedied, but as it comes from the factory this magazine is unfortunately unacceptable.

I bought 2 of these mags for my Series 70 Colt. Fit was perfect and worked flawlessly. Good product. Better then my Colt Mags. I like the SS followers.
