Comfortable wooden handle and hardened steel cutter give you complete control when you need to straighten out checkering lines which have gone off course. The 60° tool is perfect to accurately lay out the critical, intersecting, master lines. Gives the correct angle and shallow depth of cut so the 2 or 3 edge spacer will precisely fit the groove. The 90° tool works great to sharpen the row as the pattern nears completion, bringing the lines to full depth. A real job saver. To learn more, read Monty Kennedy's Checkering and Carving of Gunstocks and Bob Sconce's fine checkering articles in Gunsmith Kinks®. Each volume provides a wealth of helpful information and beneficial descriptions of the many tasks the Jointer can perform.

Poor Quality Control(23/09/2017)
I've used Gunline tools for years and this tool was a disappointment. The teeth at the back of the cutting edge were improperly machined and did not have points. Instead the rear teeth were flat and squared off and could've ruined my work. Fortunately I tested it first and noticed the problem. I returned it to Brownell's who sent me a replacement. IT ALSO was improperly machined the same way. Someone is not checking their work. It's sad too since Gunline has been around forever. This 60 degree version should actually be more useful than the dembart 90 degree version since you should correct wavy lines early before they're pointed up, but, this tool won't do the job. If someone gets a good one please write a review
