Not the best design(24/07/2017)
This bore guide is a disappointment. There is no o-ring at the chamber end to keep solvent in the barrel. The solvent port is at the ejection port which makes it difficult to put solvent on the patch or brush. The guide barely extends out the back of the upper and is difficult to keep in place. The entire length of the bore guide is bore diameter so a brush must be completely withdrawn from the guide before being reversed. A Sinclair bore guide is overbore diameter in the body so a brush is contained within the guide when the stroke is reversed.
Nice product. in most applications, but.(08/05/2013)
This is a nice product for MOST applications. However, you may encounter it being too large in diameter at the rear O-ring for use in match quality upper receivers...you'll have to remove the rear O-ring if you want to be able to fully insert it into a tight tolerance upper receiver. Also, mine (from another source other than Brownells) did not have the chamber O-ring included in the factory packaging...a trip to the hardware store to buy a suitable O-ring for use at the chamber was required.
end piece broke on first use(17/06/2016)
The end that fits into the bore broke on first use. Disappointed. Bought it quite a while ago and never used it until recently so not sure it can be returned.
