Disappointing but serviceable. 16/05/2023
I assumed these would be noticeably stronger like the Wolff XP glock mag springs. They are not, the coils are fairly large and there's probably half as many coils in 40 inches as a genuine mossberg spring so actually way softer than a OEM spring.
Yes they work, but cut to the same size as OEM they are actually softer not 20% harder.
Okay spring, but not the best 09/03/2017
I used this spring (untrimmed) in my Benelli SBE2 with a +4 mag extension tube (13.5" extender). About one shell per box would hang up in the magazine tube where it meets the receiver. In Brownell's Q&A section on this spring, a spec of approximately 2.5 coils per inch is mentioned. That is incorrect! This spring only has about 1.5 coils per inch, which is noticeably less than the factory Benelli spring that has 2 coils per inch. Because of that reduction in the spring force, I should have purchased a longer spring. A 50" spring would have been much better to make up for the reduction from 2 coils per inch on my factory spring to 1.5 coils per inch on this Wolff spring.
