This was a huge upgrade to my Redding standard die set. The precision that can be obtained in achieving your COAL is amazingly quick. I am a novice reloader and this micrometer is night and day compared to the standard bullet seater. Well worth the money. I also purchased one for my 300 win mag die set. The adjustment is firm yet smooth and does have a little backdrift on the adjustment. I will buy another when I purchase another caliber rifle.
