I have nearly every size of long swabs and all of the bore swabs in every caliber. Unlike one rater, I have some swabs that have been used (with Break-Free or Butch's Bore Shine, etc.) then cleaned with soap & water 5 or 6 timres and still going, with probably 3 or 4 more uses. I have had a couple that failed on the 1st or 2nd use, but that has only happened twice, as I recall. I've been using these for a year or so, so they have had a good workout. They also do well with soap & water cleaning residue from Black Powder firing.

They aren't perfect, but they do give good use. They excell being dipped in oil or solvent and getting then into the many nooks & crannies of various firearm's innards. I still use bronze-bristle brushes (or SS, if VERY cruddy) because sometimes you have to "scrub" but for general use and in conjunction with other cleaning tools or systems such as "Ripcords," "Bore-Snakes," or good ol' rods/brushes/patches they are great.

I'd give it 4.5 stars if that were possible, and Brownell's prices are a big help since these Swab-Its are not cheap. (Inexpensive)
