Definitely recommended

High Quality and a Beautiful Stock 25/09/2018

I installed this stock on my M1A Standard that I purchased with a black synthetic stock. It fits perfectly and looks fantastic. I always wanted to change out the synthetic stock for a high quality walnut stock, This is the one to purchase. Perfect fit and I did not need any additional parts or do any customizing.

MADE FOR A SPRINGFLIELD! 20/05/2018

If you own a SPRINGFIELD, M1A (Not an M14) and need the Walnut? This is the one. NOT INTENDED for a Fulton, Norinco.

May work OK with an LRB receiver? I do not know, I don't own an LRB receiver.

May or may NOT come with the steel "Liner" or side screws.

(I'd call first). If you want to replace that flexible plastic stock this will make you happy. Fiberglass is a VERY different animal.

My FACTORY M1A walnut stock had been abused to the end. Just beat up from Tactical drills. This one when arrived DID have the steel liner and screws. My SPRINGFIELD dropped right in.

Wasn't rough with "Lathe issues" or production attention detail problems. Looked exactly like the one I was replacing.

Again! Look at the manufacturer! Actually after receiving this one?

I ordered a second one.

Pretty Good, not great 15/01/2014

I just received my M1A walnut stock. The bad news first, I was disappointed and surprised to see that it did come with the metal stock liner. I ordered the stock liner screws and liner tool based off of another review, but now, I have to order the actual stock liner itself. I bought this stock as a replacement to the black synthetic stock (which doesn't require a stock liner). This might sound picky, but I was also a little disappointed at the look and finish of the INSIDE of the stock. There are a lot of wood burrs left over from milling. Nothing a little sanding can't fix though. Also, when I went to test fit my upper receiver, there was no cutout for the op rod spring guide takedown pin. It went together with a little forcing, which carved out a spot for the pin. The good news is that, the overall finish of the wood looks nice and it came with the metal flip-up butt pad, front stock ferrule, and sling swivels. The price is still fair for it being a finished walnut stock with "most" metal and no selector switch cut-out.

Slightly recommend

Does not come with all hardware 07/12/2013

This stock was supposed to be a swap-and-go replacement. My stock did not come with the stock liner screws although they were pictured at the time of purchase. I called customer service and was told that the screws are not included even though they are in the picture that accompanies the product description. I was told, when I called, that I was supposed to use my old screws. I bought this stock to replace my synthetic stock which does not need the screws since the synthetic stock does not have the stock liner. Brownells sent me two screws in an attempt to make it right, but now I need to spend more money to buy the special tool to put the screws in the stock. My stock is sitting unused in the box until I can get one of the tools required to put the stock liner screws in. Hopefully Brownells updates the description of the product soon to accurately reflect what is included with the stock.
