Every new Sinclair Rest comes with a post, but if you are planning to use more than one top on your rest, order a post for each additional top. Our rest post is stainless steel and precision machined threads and a one fourth - twenty hole for the top mounting screw. These posts are machined specifically for Sinclair Rifle Rest, but will usually fit Hart handwheels also. Only fits the lite weight rest and Gen I Varmint, Does not fit Gen II Rest. Post is 4 inches long, undersized to three fourths - ten thread.

Works for me 22/11/2012
I bought a Generation II Front Rest top for my Caldwell Rock, so I could have true lateral windage adjustment. I also bought one of these posts to go with the old top, for when I shoot beavertail shaped wood stocks. This post was about 1" too tall for the Rock base, so I had to shorten it with a hacksaw. I'm very happy with this setup.

An extra post sounds like a great idea but it doesn't fit any thing I have. Of course there are no dimensions. I took a chance that all front rest post would be the same.
I guess it's my bad.
