Did not fit in my MK I(17/11/2009)
Not sure why Brownells says that this works with the Mk I. It doesn't. Even Volquartsen's website says Mark II or III only....
super item - not for Mark I(10/03/2010)
Installs as directions indicate. Works great. Much better trigger pull. Have a Mark III DOES NOT WORK IN MK I
It will work on MK I Rugers(25/03/2010)
On most MKI's the [...] will work but on others fitting is required with the safety which is why we do not sell this part as a drop in item for the MKI.
Volquartsen sear for Mark II(23/05/2011)
This sear is slightly taller than the original and would not allow the gun to be cocked.
Sweet!(02/05/2013)
I installed this sear in a MKIII target model. The difference in trigger pull is amazing. The release is very crisp. Installation for this and the Volquortsen trigger took about 45 minutes including a fair amount of associated cleaning, but I am familiar with the workings of these pistols. This sear is the single biggest improvement you can make to a MKII or MKIII Ruger.
Oh man....(25/10/2013)
This sear totally cuts the trigger pull in half! I love it. Makes the gun even more fun to shoot. I also added a Tandemkross hammer bushing and between the two, I have the most consistent trigger pull ever. I highly recommend the Volquartsen sear for any MKIII or 22/45 owner.
Work on Ruger Standard Pistol(30/04/2014)
Installed this sear and the Volquartsen stainless trigger easily on my Ruger Standard Pistol(pre Mark I)without any modifications. What a difference it made. Cut the trigger pull in half and no more creep. Very smooth and crisp trigger now. Best investment for this pistol.
Very Nice!!!!(09/05/2014)
I installed this sear and also the company's SS target trigger. My original trigger pull was a heavy and grainy 4&1/4Lbs. This Sear and trigger combo brought it down to a very nice crisp and clean 1&3/4Lbs.I highly recommend it! FYI YouTube has videos that keep you outta trouble when disassembling and installing these parts.
Good, but not great(12/08/2014)
My Ruger Mark III 22/45 is well-tuned, well-cared for, and has many thousands of rounds through it. The factory sear and hammer provided a crisp, repetitive three-pound release. While I have been quite satisfied with it, I installed the Volquartsen sear to see if it measured up to the claims I've read in reviews.
The VQ sear dropped the release to a fairly repetitive 1.6 pounds, but it feels a little mushy. I'll pass final judgement after a thousand rounds or so. But, at this point I'm not going to bother installing a VQ sear in my Mark III Target, which also has a crisp three-pound release. I'm perfectly happy with it.
Great Addition to those needing a Sear(03/09/2016)
I replaced the factory Sear in my MkIII TARGET along with other modifications. The Factory trigger had a lot of take up and over travel as well as creep and a heavy, gritty break. So when I installed a new flat Faced Trigger, I decided to do the sear as well. No Fitting is required in a Mk II or Mk III, and it will not fit a Mk I. BTW, This sear would have a higher rating if the three reviews that talk about attempting to install in a MKI were dropped. I cannot imagine that installing this sear, by itself, would not make a major difference. I Installed with other modifications, the results are spectacular. I know that now, My MkIII trigger has no perceptible creep and breaks like a glass rod. So this was a major improvement over the stock sear. Very Pleased.
What a game changer on my Mark II(02/01/2017)
I installed this sear on a 24 year old SS slab sided Ruger Mark II along with a Vq trigger installed 24 years ago it's a game changer , the trigger breaks clean with no creep . I installed a pre set , set screw in the trigger guard when I added the trigger 24 years ago . This pistol has a trigger pull weight of 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs . The triggers are the old style SS kind . Should have done the complete pistol years ago .
If your into shooting USPSA steel plates add the sear, trigger and you'll be set .

Should be the first upgrade you do!(16/02/2017)
Loved my new mkiii 22/45, everything but the trigger that is. After reading some reviews I ordered the volquartsen target sear. Install wasn't too bad after a few YouTube videos. The results are amazing! The trigger breaks so much cleaner and twice as easy as before just like it should.
