To select the appropriate sight height, refer to the Marbles and/or Williams charts to determine your required Sight Style, Bead Type, and Width. For instance, if you need a Contoured Ramp Front Sight with an “MR” width, .290" (7.4mm) height, and a 1/16" (1.6mm) gold bead, follow the height listing to the .290" figure, read across on the “MR” line to the 1/16" gold bead, and note the number: 579-502-911.

Better sight picture for aging eyes... 10/07/2011
Definitely an improvement over the original gold bead post front sight on my old Stevens 87A, which disappeared in a blur against the target with my aging eyes.
This sight can help you make a good sight picture if your eyes aren't what they used to be, and you don't want to mount a scope on a particular rifle.
It's a well made, nicely finished blued steel base, and the acrylic rod really lights-up.
This must be fitted! It is not a drop-in item... but that's the nature of dovetail bases. I used a triangle file, a triangular stone, time, and patience. Once you've fitted it to the desired snug fit, reblue it with some Oxpho Blue Cream.
At this low price, you can afford screwing it up and trying again.
