If you use the 5 shot Rem. 870,YOU need this sling mount. It was standard of the Fed's WPA short barreled shotguns and designed to SAVE your hand during fast action shooting when the shotgun's heavy recoil could force your hand into the muzzle blast. Get it and USE it,10-4?
