Slightly recommend

Takes some work to use 07/09/2012

I bought this adapter to use with my Redding 3BR measure. It's the one on the right in the image. It comes with no instructions, but it was fairly obvious that the short green drop tube on the 3BR had to go. I tried twisting it off while holding it in a small hobby vise. No joy. So I tried a bigger vise with serrated jaws and it came off without too much marring. Next, the adaptor would only screw on for about a half turn. The threadform in the adapter is different than on the 3BR. So, I stuck the adpater in the same vise with a towel around it and used the 3BR as a thread. Using some oil and many back and forth turns, the adapter threads were deepened enough to screw on by hand. When steel goes against aluminum, steel wins. Now that it is installed, I am happy with it, although it is a bit marred. Nonetheless, it should have fit right off.
