873750011844 Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point for quick-detach swivels adds a centrally located socket at the rear of the receiver. More than 180° of sling movement enables both left- and right-handed shooters to quickly shift their weapon between shoulders, plus the mount cup is angled slightly downward for greater freedom of motion and to create a finished look. Low-profile design includes rounded edges that minimize snagging. Constructed from durable, case-hardened, precision-cast steel with a Melonite™ finish for extreme resistance to wear and corrosion. To install, remove the standard AR-15/M4 carbine stock receiver end plate and slide on the ASAP-QD. Works with one-point type slings with push-button QD connectors, like Magpul's MS4® Dual QD GEN 2 Sling, as well as the MS1® Multi-Mission Sling with a QD loop assembled on back. Slings sold separately.

Installation:

Definitely recommended

Nice QD Sling Mount 27/08/2018

Install was quick & easy - If you don't have AR tools consider castle nut removal before purchasing. Works well for sling connection point, may not have purchased this if my adjustable stock had a QD mount integrated. Part is solid, QD connects easily and zero issues when in use. Would purchase again.

Works as advertised, rock solid. Used on a DDI stamped ak-47, with a rifle dynamics m4 stock adapter, a voltor buffer tube, and a DMPS castle nut

Excellent QD Plate, 1 Minor Flaw 23/04/2015

I will start by admitting that I am a Magpul Fanboy. If Magpul made a silverware set, I'd buy 3 of them. I really do like this QD End Plate, but it is slightly flawed (In My Opinion, more on that in a minute).

Quick bit of info: I am building a custom lower and I am using a Spike's 6 position buffer tube, Magpul CTR Mil-Spec Stock, and the Magpul MS4 QD Sling. I added the Magpul ASAP-QD in place of my original Noveske QD Endplate.

With the Noveske Plate (which is as minimalist as you can get) will allow the CTR stock to close on the 1st buffer tube position (stock totally collapsed). It pushes all the way against the push button QD, but it will close and lock into place (it closes and locks the QD against the stock, will not come loose *See Attached Picture, picked from Google not my Image*).

The new Magpul ASAP-QD will NOT allow the CTR stock to collapse completely (position 1). It gets very close, but with the angle of the QD Socket has in addition to the added depth of the unit (for strength I assume?) the stock will not collapse totally.

I emailed Magpul with this information, and I was informed this is a "Side Effect" of using the CTR with the ASAP-QD and nothing can really be done about it. A bit of an oversight by them in my opinion.

Now, all that being said, it is not an issue for me. I do not shoot my gun with the stock totally collapsed. I think the ASAP-QD is a very nice addition to your gun. Just be aware of your stock choices, as it might not close entirely.

The finish on the ASAP-QD is flawless, its super hard steel as another reviewer has noted (though I don't believe it was 2 star worthy). I would not hesitate to buy another, I would just go with a different stock next time.
