Recommended

Great base for the money 19/10/2014

I think this is a great base, I only gave 4 stars because of a mounting issue not mentioned in the description. This will not fit a Mauser with the factory stripper clip guide, the bump on the guide needs to be contoured flush with the rest of the rear receiver ring. This was not a big issue for me but should definitely be mentioned in the product description.

Wrong Packaging? 07/07/2014

Bought the alum. Base for a VZ large ring Mauser. Received was drilled with a B Square temp let like all the other Mauser builds I have had done. The hole spacing was incorrect for a Mauser, also mount did not even come close to fitting the received in several ways. Had to order a Farrell mount. It fit perfectly but much more expensive. The tech rep said you never drill a received without using the mount as a templete. That's just crazy, as the mount would not even fit on the received without a lot of grinding an cutting off more than a quarter inch off the base for the bolt to operate. I think this was a packaging error I hope
