My earlier review is on the no hole model .i drilled out my own holes to be the same as the holes already in my gun's receiver .

I already had a gunsmith mill the stripper clip claw off and drill and tap holes 35 plus years ago on my sporterized 8mm Mauser model 98.so for me it was as simple as taking off the old QUIK SEE THRU MOUNTS and mounting this mount . I basically bedded the mount with a super thin layer of j&b weld so I could tell where the holes were in the receiver . Left it set up over night . Pulled the mount back off and I had the 4 holes duplicated on bottom of the new rail. Center punched them then drilled holes in the rail .then counter drilled each hole . Cleaned the playdough out of the holes in the receiver and used 4 new screws . Tightened all down . Put new 30 mm rings and scope on the gun . Took it to the range today . To my surprise scope was two inches to the right . Couldn't of asked for anything to work out better!!!! I now can use any ring /scope combination I want . Plus the added look of this rail is awesome .
