Fits 7 shells in an 8" mag Extension 09/04/2017
Just wanted to comment that this spring and follower will just just make the 7th shell on a 8" and 2/16th" magazine extension. IOW 7 shells is a perfect fit if your magazine extension is 8 and 2/16th of a inch long from its bottom to top most inside part.
Perfect fit for Mossberg 500. 04/08/2015
I've used this product to replace the factory magazine spring and follower on standard Mossberg 500 12 ga. shotguns. You must remove the magazine tube from the 500 in order to take out the factory parts and install this kit. The tube is threaded into the receiver and some are very tight so be careful not to damage the threads or magazine tube. It helps to soak the threads with Kroil oil prior to removing the tube. Go slow and line everything back up as you screw the magazine tube back in. Also you may need to trim an inch off the magazine plug. This kit works better than the factory original parts.
