Great for Mossberg 500 reciever mounts 11/09/2011
I bought a rail mount for my Mossberg 500. The screws it comes w/ are 8-40 and the receiver holes are 6-48. So the screws that came w/ the mount are too big in diameter. Very frustrating until I realized I had bought this set of scews from Brownells. Talk about a stress reliever. The 6-48 screws fit perfectly and I had to only cut them down so they wouldn't protrude into the receiver. Now I can put the red dot I bought for my Mossberg 500.

I looked at screw kits at several sites and other Brownells kits. I selected this one because I wanted the longer screws and I liked the assortment of screw heads. When working on a recent project, the assortment of heads allowed me to select the proper screw for the job. Oval heads for a flush fit on a flat mounting plate, Fillister heads for more strenght on a grip mount, and Torx heads on a scope mount. Couple the fact that the price of the kit is only a few bucks more than a refill pak, and you have a real value.
