Gorgeous, handmade, smooth leather bench bags that allow rifle to slide freely during recoil. Made from 3-3½ oz., top grain cowhide, finished in a beautiful cork color. Bag bottoms made from same leather but sueded for a good grip on rest or bench. DuPont nylon stitching won t rot or mildew. Bags with a C sufix have a smooth sliding, Cordura bag with a suede base and tie-down tabs to stay in position on the rest. Brass eyelets won t corrode or abrade the tie-down, Superb! NOTE: Bags shipped empty. Fill with sand or lead shot that you provide.Heavy Bottom Rabbit Ear Rear Bag's extra thick bottom sets flat on the bench. Just a comment on filling them- I bought a 70 lb bag of sand at Home Depot, $7.50
Run the sand through a screen to get the fine heavy sand. Filling can be a bit tedious, take an air nozzle and blow air through the filler access to expand the leather before and periodically during filling it.

I am very happy with this rest. It's well made with very high quality leather. As stated, it was time consuming to fill but well worth the effort. I used weighted polyurethane pellets like used to stuff bean bags because they don't retain moisture nor do they mildew. A 2lb bag was plenty to fill it as well as the owl ear front rest bag I also purchased.
