Definitely recommended

Great for Revolvers 17/03/2018

I use the .45 on my revolver cylinder and barrel after I finish running standard patches through. The Ram Rodz pick up a ton of grime that the patches didn't - especially in the revolver cylinder.. Great product.

Slightly recommend

Last batch didn't swabs came apart 04/03/2018

I've used these in 9mm and .45 for a couple years now and mostly have been pleased but the last batch in 9mm and .45 had issues. In the case of the .45 swabs one of two things happened. Either the head would come apart in the transition from the chamber to the barrel, or it would come apart on the first pass backward from crown to chamber. In the past with previous batches neither was ever a problem. It's possible I just got a bad batch as previous batches have been okay, but it is concerning the 9mm batch I recently bought had issues as well being undersized. With the .45 especially they are very expensive for only 100 of them so to have half or more fail is unimpressive.

Excellent 27/11/2014

These are, by far, the best swabs I have used. The stick is long enough to get into those hard to reach places, the swab is tightly wound and doesn't come apart, and - here's the best part - the stick is flexible and doesn't snap as you are manipulating the swab. In fact, after being amazed by the flexibility and strength of the stick I decided to bend one (used, of course - I'm just that cheap) to see how far it would go before it broke. I bent it fully 180 degrees, and even then it didn't snap - the stick just split. It would have still been usable. I can't tell you how many times I have had "the other brands" snap off, just when I am reaching into that hardest to get to spot on a rifle or pistol.

I don't use these to clean the barrel (they are much more expensive than patches), but just to check their claim I did send one through the barrel of my Ruger Single Six. The claim is valid: it fit tightly, and did a very good job of picking up fouling in the barrel. I would say one of these swabs absorbs about twice as much as a patch (but as stated, I'm cheap so still using patches).

Bottom line: these are an Excellent choice, and I will be buying more of them.
