BE ADVISED 03/08/2018
I ordered these 28 gauge brushes and the ones I received were .690 in dia. I contacted Brownell, because these were too big and they sent me another package of three. The ones that came were also .690. I contacted customer service and she got with a technician and his response to her was "These were measured against the 20 gauge brushes and they measure correctly for the 28 gauge". "The 20 gauge is about .050 larger diameter than this 28 gauge brush". Be advised that 28 gauge is .550, 20 gauge is .615. As stated earlier these brushes are .690 so they are really closer to being 16 gauge which is .663. They are made very well, however the packaging is mismarked in my opinion. They will make great brushes for 16 gauge, but good luck getting them in a 28 gauge shot gun.
Fouling be gone! 15/04/2014
I spent countless hours trying to get the barrel on my M&P 45 clean. I used other bronze brushes, nylon brushes, ultrasonic cleaners, and everything in between and I just couldn't get all of the fouling out of the barrel. After using one of these brushes, I ran a patch through the bore and it came out dirtier than I'd ever seen it. This brush removed stubborn fouling that had built up over time and now the barrel is cleaner than when I bought the gun.
