Manufactured to exact specifications, including diameter and length dimensions, weight and balance of factory loaded ammo, these DUMMIES have the proper functioning characteristics to reliably check magazine feeding, action timing, extraction and ejection of all guns. The only professionally accepted and safe way to check gun functioning; live ammo should never be used except in actual test-firing on the range - after you have checked the gun with DUMMIES. The very reasonable cost per DUMMY is an added incentive to use them regularly. The blackened case makes them distinct, and instantly recognizable as DUMMIES, which makes them ideal - and safe - to use as a sales aid. Especially useful when demonstrating how a particular gun functions or in gun safety instruction classes. They absolutely eliminate the chance of an accidental discharge.Delivery time approx. 7-14 days.

Well designed, well made & well worth it 23/09/2017
I've bought over a dozen brands of dummy rounds and found these to be the best in shape, weight, durability and reproduce the action of real ammo during malfunction drill racking more precisely. Other brands here are either too light, of inaccurate dimension, made of material that lacks durability and will often fragment into your firearm, feels wrong in 'heft and has unrealistic friction co-efficiencies. While Brownells Dummies may lack the 'safety colors' of kindergarten crayons, I think only a very unobservant or rash gunner would confuse a real round with these. Highly recommended.
Avoid These! 17/08/2015
Not the kind of quality I've come to expect from Brownell's. The absence of a dummy primer makes use in a lever gun's tubular magazine nearly impossible. The soft nose bullet hangs up in the hole where the primer would be. This damages the soft lead bullet, jams the gun and causes the bullet to loosen in the cartridge case. I even had a few push the bullet down into the case. The lacquer, or whatever it is, coating also flakes off in the gun's action. I've tried these in both a .357 and 30-30 lever gun with the same disappointing results. They might be OK using a stick type magazine or in a revolver - but there are better options.
