The BRN-601® Complete Upper Receiver is back and better than ever! Styled after the original Model 601, which debuted in the late 1950s, this upper receiver showcases distinct features that are characteristic of those early AR-15 rifles.

Starting at the muzzle, the "duckbill" flash hider is secured by a properly sized split washer. Attached to a lightweight 20-inch barrel, this configuration is found on AR-15 variants through the M16A1. The 1-12 twist effectively stabilizes 55gr and lighter projectiles, while the 20-inch barrel ensures ample velocity.
The front sight base is not F-marked, allowing the round, tapered front sight post to align perfectly with the carry handle rear sight. Solid green triangle handguards replicate the original green painted handguards from the 601. At the end of the 5.56x45mm NATO barrel assembly is a flat slip ring anodized in a matte gray that matches the upper receiver.
Equipped with a proper ejection port cover featuring a flat external "bump" (not just an off-the-shelf A2), the triangle charging handle also boasts the same anodizing, giving the entire assembly a clean and cohesive look. Inside, you'll discover a chrome bolt carrier group reminiscent of the original, complete with a solid firing pin retaining pin and modern staked gas key screws.
The front pivot pin hole is recessed to function with the 601 pivot pin, and the A1 type rear sight assembly fits seamlessly within the slickside upper receiver.
