Poorly fitting part (16/04/2015)

I purchased this adapter in conjunction with part #749011468

SINCLAIR BENCHREST FOREND RAIL ADAPTER so I could use it on a few rifles that have picitinny rails mounted under the fore ends. After I received the two parts I was surprized to discover they did not fit together! After carefully measuring the two parts with Vernier calipers I discovered that one of the dimensions of the picitinny adapter was .005" undersize. After an hour of careful filing and try-fitting I managed to fit the parts together to my satisfaction, however now at some point I will have to purchase another #749011468 SINCLAIR BENCHREST FOREND RAIL ADAPTER to use on my Sako TRG 22. This certainly is not indicative of Sinclair products and I'm sure I was just unlucky with this particular purchase, however it did happen and I want to make it known that it may be an issue!?

Good Product .... But ... (15/09/2015)

What the instructions don't say is that it is a press fit with the Benchrest Adapter. Just tightening the screws will leave it canted and throw off your accuracy (a lot). I used a couple of small wood blocks and a vise to press mine together. That made a world of difference in how level my rifle is now. Would have given it 5 stars except for that.

I found that the Picatinny Adapter fits perfect with the Benchrest Forend Rail Adapter. No issues with oversize or undersize parts as some other reviewers noted.

Maybe factory paid attention to some negative reviews here and made some corrections to this model... But it really fits perfectly with rest adapter and I had no even tiny problem attaching the parts together. I am so happy with this mount!

Better Than Expected (16/11/2011)

I use this on a Savage 12 F to emulate a true BR stock - 3 inches wide. I love that it rides on two rail, very slick and won't blemish the (expensive) front bag.
In fact I'm going to get a couple more, even for a .22 CZ. This will facilitate not having to change bags or rests to shoot nearly any rifle in this style.
Highly recommended.

Quality is let down by fixing screws (09/07/2014)

Forend plate is good quality, just found the Hex key holes in the rail fixing screws not good.

I had one Hex key difficult to insert, I thought it was in okay but as soon as I applied a small pressure - bummer it slipped out, creating a burr on the hole. Became impossible to then get the hex key in again.

Definitely the rail fixing screws are too soft...!

My fix was to use a Dremel to clean up the burs, then cut a flat screw driver slot into the screw top as extra insurance. The next step is to purchase some new tough screw replacements.

(PS - I did heed there advice not to lock up too tight - yet in reality this rail must be very firmly fixed to avoid movement during use from recoil. Hence my concern about screw quality.)

Someone deserves a design prize for this (20/03/2015)

Even when a high quality bench rest is used, shooting results will always be limited by how well the gun is held steady on the rest. When used with the âBenchrest Picatinny Adapterâ (080-000-972WB), this accessory stabilizes AR handguards and other rounded and/or thin fore ends and stocks very well, and makes it much easier to shoot good groups. The first time I used it I noticed an immediate improvement with rifles that werenât designed for bench rests. Removing a frustrating variable when trying to zero a tactical or hunting rifle makes it well worth its reasonable price.

Looks Very Slick Too (24/10/2017)

I purchased one rail adapter for my Rem. 700 in 308 and was instantly pleased with results. I was also pleased with the fact I measured and purchased stainless bolts and was at the range the same day. Today I confirmed the results are owed to this adapter, so I ordered one for my RPR. The rail adapter is on back order . Can not wait for the results.

It fit the rail on my CMP Kimber 82G perfectly. Did Not fit my Remington 40X HB US marked with out filing width and thickness of the square nuts that slide into the rail. Took about an hour to file and fit
