Definitely recommended
Colt Parts WORK 05/04/2012
I purchased AR-15 Kits from two different well known sources and I could not install the Take Down Pins in either one, even with a tool. The Takedown Pin Detent & Spring extended too far out of the hole even with the spring totally compressed. I ordered the Colt spring and pin and installed it easily by hand without the tool. The Colt parts fit perfectly and easily. The Colt spring (and pin) were actually longer in the relaxed state but the spring wire was smaller diameter allowing it to compress to a much shorter length. Colt makes true MIL-SPEC parts while other companies just claim to.
