Compensator features a large initial expansion chamber which dissipates combustion gases at a lower pressure, then directs the gases to the side and rear through precisely canted vents. Innovative reverse venting design reduces recoil and blowback while eliminating muzzle rise. Closed bottom in compensator greatly diminishes dust signature. Machined from high strength stainless steel for corrosion resistance, compensator will not erode due to the extreme heat of automatic fire. Requires use of Accu-Washers sold seperately for proper installation.

SPECS: HTSR 416 stainless steel bar stock, matte black or in-the-white stainless steel finish. 1/2-28 TPI thread. 2.25" (5.2cm) OAL. 0.875" (2.2cm) dia. 2.6 oz (73.7g) wt. Fits .223 Cal (5.56mm) caliber. A04020 and A04021 fit .308 caliber and have 5/8x24 threads.

Perfect on the Remington 700 5R (25/02/2017)

After much searching and research I installed the stainless M4-72 on my Remington 700 5R Gen 2 .308. Very easy install when using the shim kit from Precision Armament. Recoil and muzzle jump were GREATLY reduced after install. Its loud, as always, wear your ears. Excellent product, highly recommend this product for anyone wanting a great all around break that keeps its curb appeal.

SUPER RECOIL REDUCER!!! (03/03/2017)

I have installed several in both .223 & .308. Recoil reduction is second to none, very nuetral brake, in 223 muzzle movement almost eliminated! IMPORTANT NOTE, with extended forearm make sure there is at least a FEW INCHES BETWEEN BACK OF BRAKE AND END OF FOREARM or gas will be trapped and funneled strait back.

Very effective (26/07/2017)

This was installed on a Heavy Barrel Remington .308. Felt recoil was easily cut in half and target re-acquisition was quick. Like most muzzle brakes sound and blast is diverted to the sides and can be annoying to the person on the next bench. But in the shooters position was not uncomfortable at all. No degradation of accuracy. The manufacture recommends installation with their proprietary machined shims, of which you get 20. A little tedious to go through but once there it is very solid. Manufacture also recommends installation with a high temperature thread locker. i called them and on a bolt gun they were ok with the regular red product. The high temp being more necessary on semi or fa rifles. It is also easy to clean. Very pleased.

Best Muzzle Brake (12/05/2018)

Perfection is how I feel with the M4-72 attached. I felt confident with every shot knowing that where I aimed is where I was going to hit. I have no complaints, & as for people saying how loud it is...donât believe them, fake news...I had the orange $40 ear plugs & didnât have any hearing problems after. 5 Stars

Good brake, loud (21/10/2016)

Installed on my ruger sr-762, and it works great. Cuts recoil by more than half, but the concussion is substantial. That's the trade off though, any brake that significantly reduces recoil will be loud. I'm still looking for that happy medium.

Works well (30/07/2017)

The M4-72 does an outstanding job mitigating recoil on a 700 in .308 making for a more comfortable day at the range. It's a bit expensive, but the brake is well worth it. The Brownell's branded shim kit made quick work of the install and saves a significant amount over the PA Accu-Washer system...frees up a few more bucks for ammo.

Best purchase Ive made! (08/11/2017)

I have tried a few different brakes for 7.62 AR's and this brake is hands down the best that your money can buy, period. I had used JP Brakes exclusively and they work well. I have a long range AR-10 with bipod and a JP brake and it works great. However, I recently purchased a 7.62 AR that is set up for defense and would need to be fired off hand, so recoil management for the 7.62 becomes paramount for rapid follow up shots to put lead on target. Put the Precision Armament brake on and wow, just wow!!! This brake performs! The recoil reduction is incredible! It is now comparable to a 5.56!!! I buy 7.62s because, well, it packs a bigger punch. Now, with this PA brake, I have the 7.62 punch with 5.56 recoil...

One additional thought, it is quite loud and you do get some gas blowback. It surprised me a little, but for the performance, I will deal with it. Absolutely amazing brake!

I have several pa muzzle brakes 7 to be exact. This will make your ar shoot like a .22mag. Guaranteed!!!

Installed on my bolt action Savage .308 using a shim kit. I have shot with and without the muzzle break to compare. Mitigated recoil significantly which it made it much quicker to see your shot or perform follow-up shots. There's is that study on TruthAboutGuns that showed a 64.43% in recoil reduction for their test firearm. Not sure how accurate that is, but it sounded good to me. Also, I personally like the aesthetics of this muzzle break.
