Nice, but issue with fitting Aero lower 19/07/2018

I really like Aero products for the value. This is a no frills assembled upper. Here's the problem... it wouldn't fit a recently purchased standard Aero lower. The receivers mate only with extra force applied as the rear takedown lug is very snug. The rear takedown pin would not close at all. Not even budge from the open position. I used a Strike Industries enhanced LPK. A gen 1 Noveske lower also didn't fit.

Luckily, I had a spare Spike's punisher lower that fit perfectly.

Good, Not Excellent 26/08/2017

This is a solid 3. The only way it would get a 5 is if it fit better. I checked flimsy construction because I couldn't think of anything else to put the fact the it's rather lose.

I bought two to mate with a couple of M&P lowers as the price was only 75 at the time. I share the one reviewer complaint that one of them had the dust cover assembled correctly, and I had to break down the whole upper to fix it. Otherwise, the forward assist was installed correctly, and everything I put on it fit correctly. It's just too darn loose. Lose to the point that I had to put an O-Ring on both of them, as the amount of looseness gave me concern with wearing out my takedown and pivot pen holes. #41 1/16 o rings to be exact. To take 99% of the wobble out of the Midwest industries upper, I use an old ring that is about 1/8 the size of that. There was so much wobble that if I don't put maximum pressure on it, the crosshair wiggles back and forth when shooting from my bipod.

The upper that came with the performance center lower has almost no wiggle without an o ring. The 15t upper also had about 75 percent less wobble than this one. I'd say if it's less than a hundred and you don't plan on using it with a scope or have a problem with o rings and accuwedges then go for it, otherwise my experience suggest spend a little extra and you might get a tighter for from a brand that advertises a tighter fit or from a bullet upper.

Excellent fit on CMMG lower 18/08/2015

I recently installed a 300 AAC barrel on an older CMMG upper and mated it with a brand new CMMG lower. The fit was pretty sloppy between the upper and lower so I decided to invest in this Aero Precision upper hoping for a better fit. As soon as it arrived I checked it for fit with the CMMG lower and found it to be a very snug fit with only a minuscule amount of lateral movement at the pivot point and an almost perfect fit between receivers when locked at the take down point. The finish of this upper matches the lower without any noticeable differences in color shade. Prior to installing the barrel I lapped the Aero upper with Brownell's upper receiver lapping tool and then installed the barrel. Very happy with the fit and looks of this upper.
