Definitely recommended

Excellent quality magazine 06/06/2018

I have used them all including Pmag, GI, Elander, C-Products, D&H, Colt, and on and on. These are very good quality magazines. I am not certain about longevity but they appear promising. Certainly as good or better than Pmags IMHO.

My favorite 20/30 round'ers 05/04/2016

The steel, black-oxide feed-lips are great on these Lancer mags. The polymer-body is slightly less-stiff than the Magpul E-mags, but the feed-lips make up for it, IMO. Hard to find the 30s in stock, so I buy some 20s whenever I have an Brownells order.

20rnd mag works great with 5.45x39 M4 15/08/2014

I shoot M4 carbines in 5.45x39 to save significantly on ammo costs. 5.45x39 can still be had for less than 20 cents per round. The problem was that the only high capacity mags available made for 5.45x39 were poor quality and unreliable. I have been searching 3 years and testing every 5.56 mag design to find a magazine that was fully functional with both 5.45x39 and 5.56. The Lancer L5 AWM 20 round is the ONLY magazine that suits this purpose and it passed all of my tests. The L5 AWM actually works better than the mags specifically made for 5,45x39. If you want one set of magazines for your M4 carbines in 5.56 and 5.45x39 - you now know about the only mag I could find that not only works, it works very reliably. Please note that this only applies to the 20 round magazine. The 30 round failed my tests. The only caveat is that you will load the 20 round mag with 19 rounds of 5.45x39 due to the larger case head. When loaded with 19 rounds of 5.45x39 the last round lines up with the 20 round mark for 5.56 bullets and that is convenient because you will not have to count - just load the 5.45x39 ammo to the 20 round mark and the mag will be properly loaded with 19 rounds and will easily load with bolt closed or open. My last test was with 15 magazines all loaded to 19 rounds with all of the common brands of 5.45x39 that are available. There were zero malfunctions. I hope this info helps my fellow 5.45x39 M4 carbine shooters.

Best 20rd Magazine I can find. 01/10/2011

I have a AUG-pattern rifle (TPD AXR) that takes AR mags and has a faster than average cyclic rate. It is VERY mag picky. From day one, the only magazine model that's been consistently reliable for me was the Magpul PMAG 30. It doesn't particularly like any of my GI mags, and it didn't like any 20 round mag I threw at it. Magpul PMAG 20, C-products SS Teflon w/anti-tilt, Tango Down ARC, GI. None of them worked... this rifle is very good at weeding out mags that can't feed quickly. This L5AWM has been flawless, however. How can I convince you to use this over a PMAG? Magpul developed the technology to put constant-curve internals in a straight magazine well, and then forgot all about it when they made the PMAG 20. Lancer didn't, and I believe that's what sets this magazine apart.
