Good as New(16/10/2009)
A quality DPMS replacement part
Just as expecteed(18/11/2009)
Simple to install, Great quality. I am building the entire rifle from scratch but this "assembly" saved a lot of heart ach. Trying to assemble the tiny parts was just to much. This kit made it EASY!
Does what its manufactured to do.(24/02/2010)
[...] This is a good quality product, as most of DPMS products are, with a good price tag. I stand by DPMS and Brownells...[...] great products at great prices. Thanks!
Great Fit and Finish but....(09/10/2010)
I purchased this to complete my 204 ruger build, when I got it I noticed that the roll pin was slightly bent nothing to fret about but worth noting. Straightened it out with a tap of the mallet and went to work.
Well made(23/10/2010)
Received the forward assist today. Looks great, and since it is DPMS I expect it to perform flawlesly. Only problem was the roll pin is missing from that package. Only piece holding me back from finishing my new 6.5G build. Can't wait to get it rolling.
Works Fine!(21/01/2011)
I almost went with the teardrop style for its greater surface area, but really these are hardly ever used so I decided not to spend the extra money. Installed and it works fine. I've used it a couple of times to close the bolt after "limp wristing" the carrier, so to speak. No complaints.
Works great!(15/12/2012)
Wanted to finish up my AR project, and this did it. Looks great, easy to install, and works as it should.
Good fit, no problems.(28/12/2012)
Fit this to my PSA A3 stripped upper. Fit good, worked fine when I installed the bolt out of one of my other AR's.
Junk, Almost caused damage to my rifle.(16/07/2013)
I purchased this forward assist assembly for my rifle build. It fit great, installed easily. However, while performing routine functions with the rifle (unloaded), the bolt sliding into battery caused the button and spring to fly out, thus leaving the rest of the assembly just sitting there, able to slide in and out without any resistance. I put the button and spring back in and gave it a tap with a small hammer. Seemed fine. After about 30 rounds of shooting (the first 30 rounds the rifle has ever fired), I looked down to find that the button and spring were gone again. I immediately punched the roll pin out and removed the assembly so I could finish firing my rifle. I see the Colt Model assembly has a pin in the button to prevent this. Seems like this isnt a new problem.
Find one that is pinned together!(03/10/2013)
I had the same problem as several other users. During the first 30 rounds or so of firing my new AR, the button shot out never to be found again.
Purchase with caution (19/06/2018)
The forward assist itself is great and looks great on retro builds but BUY A DIFFERENT ROLL PIN to go with it. The roll pin that comes with this is too large and split and eventually broke off in my gun after about six taps with a mallet. Could just be my luck that the roll pin didnt work in my gun but after reading some other reviews it seems these tend to repeat similar if not the same problems.
