The AR-15 Enhanced Magazine Release (EMR-A) by Forward Controls Design is a meticulously crafted, ergonomic solution for .223 and .308 AR receivers. Designed for both left and right-handed users, the EMR-A offers a serrated or dimpled surface that ensures a secure grip and effortless operation.

Key Features:

  • Ergonomic Design: The lever's placement mirrors the release button on the right side, providing intuitive access.
  • Low Profile: The portion beneath the bolt catch's lower paddle features a smooth, lower profile for enhanced aesthetics and functionality.
  • Traction: The lever's serrated or dimpled length includes a shallow V-shaped serration (80%) that conforms to the curvature of your finger for added traction.
  • Durable Materials: The catch is made from CNC machined 4140 steel with a black nitride coating, while the lever is constructed from 7075 aluminum and Type 3 hard coat anodized.
  • High Strength: The roll pin boasts a shear strength of 800lbs, ensuring reliability during use.
  • Extended Lever Option: Available with a .09” lever for enhanced functionality.
  • Includes Extra Spring: Comes with a 10.9lb rated magazine catch spring for optimal performance.

Installation Notes:

The EMR-A lever pivots on the receiver and must be removed before installing or removing the trigger. Installation and removal are straightforward, following the same method as a factory mag catch. It is advisable to wear eye protection during installation due to the considerable spring tension in the 10.9lb spring.

Compatibility Considerations:

  • May require minor fitting with Geissele's Maritime Bolt Catch.
  • Not compatible with CMC's anti walk pins or KNS Gen 2 anti-rotation trigger/hammer pins with extended lever.
  • Compatible with KNS Gen2 Mod2 and Gen JJ, and Gen ST (Spikes Tactical) with standard lever.
  • Incompatible with battery assist device levers and some receivers with left side fences.
  • May not work with HK 7.62mm AR style rifles, MR762 series, Hodge Defense Mod 2 lower receivers, Seekins SP223, and AR10 B receivers due to variances in standards for 308 ARs.
