Definitely recommended

Brownells USA nice mags 14/10/2015

only down side i see to these mags is that the finish can come off easily. other than that i haven't had a single issue with them. just like every GI mag out there you do have to load 29 rounds in the mag if you want to load a fresh mag with the bolt forward.

Not recommended

I bought two (02) of these. They scratch easily but I don't care since I'm more interested in functionality than looks. Not sure why it's called a 30 round mag, you can charge the mag with 30 rounds but it'll be very difficult to load it onto the rifle with the bolt forward. For quick mag changes you'd be better off charging the mag with 28 rounds. You can do 30 rounds but the bolt has to be open (to the rear) to load a mag with 30 rounds.



Now all this is pointless if the rounds will not feed into the chamber. Both mags fall low in the mag-well so when the bolt goes forward the round is low and doesn't catch the feed ramp. I had absolutely no luck cycling the bolt without a round jabbing under the feed-ramp.



The lower receiver is fine. The magpul 40 round mags hold 40 rounds, I'm able to charge 40 rounds and load the mag with the bolt forward (so if I choose to switch a mag B4 it is empty I don't have to strip 2 rounds from the replacement mag). The mags I'm used to, one could charge 31 rounds, that's how you knew when the mag was full if you lost count. You could not load it with 31 rounds though. Hope this helps and the terms charge and load didn't confuse anyone. Load, unload, reload etc.
