840815117124 The Zhukov-U Hand Guard is a shortened version of Magpul's original Zhukov hand guard for use on short-barreled AK rifles and pistols. Like the original, the Zhukhov-U Hand Guard replaces the small, skinny wood factory guard to give you a large, comfortable gripping surface thats compatible with modern shooting techniques. An internal aluminum chassis clamps directly to the barrel for a solid flex-free installation and excellent barrel heat dispersion, while the comfortable injection molded exterior gives superior ergonomics. The Zhukov-U Hand Guard is compatible with the Ultimak gas tube rail for optics. It also allows you to retain use of the military-issue cleaning rod (unlike the original Zhukov). 1.5" shorter than the standard Zhukov hand guard Fits stamped and milled AK-47 / AK-74 rifles with standard-length gas systems Optimized for short-barreled rifles such as AK-102, AK-104 & AK-105 M-LOK slots for accessory attachment at the 3, 6, and 9 oclock positions Vented gas tube cover Counts as one US compliance part under 18 U.S.C. section 922(r) Installation requires permanent removal of the factory handguard retaining cap and forward sling mount The Zhukov-U Hand Guard can be mounted on rifles with full-length barrels, if you prefer a smaller hand guard. Due to the wide range of tolerances typical of AK-pattern rifles, minor additional fitting may be required.
