Very accurate barrel (16/02/2017)

I had been thinking of building a 6.5 Creedmoor and when I noticed the barrels in stock, I jumped on it.

I ordered the barrel, since I have a Satern on my 3 Gun Ar. The crown had a couple of burrs, but cleaned up quickly. As expected, this barrel is a tack driver. Got it on the blueprinted action, bedded, and with no break in, I shot a 3 shot @ 100 that measured .157. My shooting partner shot a .208, and this was shot with factory Hornady 120 A-Max Match ammo. Does it get any better. It did not like the 129 SST Superformace factory load. Word of advise, when you go to the range, make your target to shoot at a bullet hole.

Used this for a custom Remington 700 and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. I was on average getting 1/16" groups at 100 yds and believe it or not at 250yds as well! I was using 120 hornady amax factory loads and firing it suppressed and getting 2940 fps. Only complaint is something I already knew it's heavy. I COMPLETELY recommend these barrels and caliber for anyone it beats the hell out of .308 in my opinion. Awesome quality and price. Just be sure you bring this to a competent gunsmith for fitting if you are not able to fit the barrel properly yourself.

Wow! Bughole Machine. (15/04/2017)

Brownells and Satern really knocked this one out of the park! I was easily able to carefully finish ream the short cut chamber in about an hour while performing the cut-clean-check routine. I was amazed by the performance after I got it out to the range. Shooting 1/4 MOA with Prime 130s and Nosler 140gr RDF handloads all day long now off a bipod/rear bag setup. That's pretty good shooting for me! When the rifle was a .308, it couldn't touch this. Just know that's it's a very heavy contour barrel. If I had to carry my system over miles mountain trails, I would not have chosen an M24/MTU profile. But it sure shots!
