Definitely recommended

Brownells USA Continue to Love These 08/05/2012

UPDATE: I originally bought some palm swell Hogues to replace the fancy rosewood grips on my custom shop 1911 because I thought I'd like the feel. Used them for several years then decided that I wanted to go back to the smaller profile stock grips... but couldn't find where I put the stock grips! I bought these and found that I liked these grips a lot. A year later I found my OEM grips which are much prettier... and I'm still using the Hogues. I find the checkering to be more positive, because they aren't as pretty I'm more likely to use the gun tactically, and frankly I think my 1911 looks better with them. My gun isn't a safe queen-- the bluing is worn off from being drawn so much and it just doesn't look right with those beautiful rosewoods on there!

Brownells USA Don't Think Twice About These Grips 31/10/2009

I've found that Hogue provides better grip coverage and more positive checkering than stock grips. I'm to the point where I use Hogue exclusively. The price is excellent as well. Get it!
